A flight instructor at the Hartford-Brainard Airport, in Hartford-Connecticut has created a petition on the White House’s “We the People” website to try to prevent the closure of air traffic control towers throughout the country. The goal is to persuade the White House to stop the planned closures.
The petition states, “We petition the Obama administration to: Prevent the closure of air traffic control towers in the U.S. as a result of the Budget Control Act – Sequestration.”
To sign the petition, click here.
If 100,000 signatures are obtained by April 4th, the White House will review and respond to the petition. This is just another mechanism that can be used to slow up or stop this unprecedented restructuring of the national airspace system which is progressing with little or no thought to the needs of our airports, and the economies in our communities.
